Founding and Early Years (2017-2019): Launched in 2017 by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund as part of Vision 2030, the inaugural FII (Oct 24-25, Riyadh) gathered leaders for global investment talks. The 2018 edition (Oct 22-25) drew over 3,500 attendees under "A Blueprint for the 22nd Century.
Growth and Expansion (2021-2023): Adapted to COVID with a 2021 hybrid "Neo-Renaissance" event; returned in-person Oct 2021 ("Invest in Humanity"). Editions 6 (2022, Oct 25-27) and 7 (2023, Oct 24-26) grew to 6,000+ delegates focusing on global order, climate, and tech.
Recent Developments (2024-Present): Now "Davos in the Desert," FII8 (2024, Oct 28-31) and FII9 (2025, Oct 27-30) expect 7,500-8,000 leaders; generated $128B+ in investments across AI, energy, and healthcare.
